CedarVia helps organizations make better decisions, build stronger relationships, and turn plans into practical action.
Our work brings together policy, governance, cultural safety, Indigenous engagement, community relations, labour market research, economic development, conflict resolution, and applied learning. The common thread is simple: clarity, respect, structure, and follow-through.
CedarVia is a practical consulting group that supports organizations working through important, sensitive, or complex decisions. We work with municipalities, First Nations governments, Indigenous organizations, nonprofits, businesses, public agencies, boards, councils, committees, service providers, and community-based organizations.
Our role is often to help people slow the work down enough to understand it clearly, then structure it well enough to move forward. That may mean developing policy, redesigning governance, preparing for engagement, facilitating difficult conversations, gathering labour market evidence, supporting economic development, or helping a team build shared language through workshops.
The name CedarVia reflects a way of working: grounded, practical, respectful, and connected to place. Cedar stands for strength, continuity, shelter, and usefulness. Via means a way through. CedarVia exists to help organizations find a better way through complex work.
Helping people understand the issue, the roles, the decision points, and the next steps.
Working with care for people, place, culture, governance, history, and relationships.
Building policies, plans, reports, templates, guides, workshops, and processes people can actually use.
Turning conversations and commitments into records, responsibilities, timelines, reporting, and action.
CedarVia does not begin with a template. We begin with the setting. Every organization has its own structure, history, pressures, people, responsibilities, and relationships. The work needs to fit that reality.
Our approach is plain-language, calm, and implementation-focused. We help people understand what is happening, decide what needs to change, and build the tools required to make that change hold.
We begin by understanding the people, place, history, concerns, responsibilities, and desired outcomes.
We identify what needs to be decided, reviewed, built, repaired, implemented, or communicated.
We develop policies, plans, research, facilitation processes, workshops, templates, records, and tools.
We help turn decisions into next steps, responsibilities, timelines, reporting habits, and steady practice.
CedarVia’s services can stand alone or work together. A governance project may lead to policy development. An engagement process may require cultural safety, facilitation, or conflict resolution. A labour market study may support economic development, funding readiness, and workforce planning.
Governance restructuring, strategic planning, program review, policy development, decision pathways, implementation tools, and accountability systems.
Indigenous engagement, community relations, public engagement, cultural safety, meeting design, facilitation, and reporting back.
Labour market research, workforce planning, employer surveys, economic development strategy, partnership support, funding readiness, and benefit tracking.
Certificate workshops, applied training, leadership readiness, board and council workshops, cultural safety learning, and practical tools for teams.
Many consulting projects produce a report. CedarVia focuses on what happens after the report: who understands it, who uses it, what decisions it supports, what tools are needed, and how follow-through will be tracked.
We aim to make complex work easier to understand and easier to carry forward. That means plain language, careful process design, respectful relationships, good records, and practical materials that fit the organization using them.
CedarVia’s work is grounded in a simple idea:
Good advice should become useful guidance, and useful guidance should become practical solutions.
